After a break of a month and 10 days, I have decided to come back and write some stuff so my non-existent readers can catch up on my life. And also I'm having this illusion that I have some spare time because it is the holidays.

Things that happened (and that I remembered, with additional help from my phone pictures):
- Capstone (or more commonly known as Final Year Project)
- Did a lot of acroyoga during D3 classes (semi wet grass though D:)
- Capstone
- My birthday
- Visit to help out at a soup kitchen
- Ate at Watami
- Went for a cousin's wedding (and discover some interesting stuff)
- More capstone
- Discovering funny videos (or sounds, rather)
- Super24 (omg omg OMGGGG)
- Loft stay during S24 period
- Mum's birthday (went to eat at brotzeit)
- D3 Camp 2014 (DIVERGENT) :D

CAPSTONE
- Like that lor. Very busy. Busy busy. But our idea was given the green light by client so all's good. :D

ACROYOGA
Some cool stuff that we did because Kay wanted to let us have a break from super-stressful-choreo-aside-from-S24.

Was the photographer for the first week because my wrist was being annoying. But I got to do some stuff in the second week because my wrist was better and it's back stuff. and I like back stuff because I feel like my back is the most flexible (and therefore more daring to show off too).

Third week was just too intense and I didn't care to do much stuff so nah.

BIRTHDAY
Ate at Ichiban the day before with ma family (without the sister because she was in Europe)
Lighting wasn't good so only got picture of sashimi

Annnnddd on the actual day itself, the VTTs stuffed the table drawer full of snacks and Elysa asked me to go open the drawer "to get her a marker" during a relatively serious discussion about capstone. Then they sang Happy Birthday and I responded by throwing a marker at Elysa.

The hobos bought me a cheesecake and celebrated before S24 prac started. Pearly got me a thick book supposedly full of lame jokes but I haven't got time to read it yet. And the wrapper is so cute hehehe
Honestly, I am so touched because they didn't have to do anything but they did it anyway. So grateful for these bunch of friendzzzzzz. :')

HELPING OUT AT SOUP KITCHEN
Peeling onions, chopping onions, plucking chilli stalks, chopping veggies. For our YEP post-trip activity where our in-charges totally (abandon us and) didn't appear :( It was pretty interesting to go around and help. And I had this onion soup craving for the next few days because my fingers smell like onions (shout out to all the people who can cut onions thinly)

EATING AT WATAMI
Just eat lor with the sis and the dad. They fought in the car on the way there and I was 90% ready to open the car door and leave ugh. But everything became ok when the food came. Nom nom nom (sucks when sis got dad's strong-headed genes but they think differently so they usually have screaming matches AND IT TOTALLY SUCKED THAT DAY CUS I WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE AND I HAVE TO LISTEN TO ALL THEIR RUBBISH)
Wasn't too stuffed because it was all shared so I'm actually pretty happy with the meal. MINUS THE PRE-MEAL FIGHTING >:(
COUSIN'S WEDDING
More nom noms. And dressing nice. And awkward chats with relatives. And them not recognising me.
I think it looks like there's filter. But there's not. Hehe

 FUNNY SOUNDS/VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE.
Discovered it during a lecture. Always laughed about 5 minutes straight. Showed it to some people during the camp and we laughed for about 10 mins. HAHAHA

And then we found another one. It's not as funny but we were laughing like crazy so it's damn funny.

SUPER 24
没有话讲。Show picture 就可以了  :')))))))
I don't know why I'm grabbing Loretta's arm so happily though

Almost didn't join the competition. But I'm sososososososo glad that I gave up searching for a job and joined instead. Training wasn't easy but we did it. Thankful for all the judges' decisions because we actually tie scores on the first round with Major Crew and then on the second round with AON and everyone for working so hard. Thank you thank you thank you.

LOFT STAY
It was damn fun because everyone had their funny moments. Like my "The cold very floor" and "The hotter very water." And gossip sessions. And supermarket shopping. And the less fun part like staying up till 4am to do my assignment.

MAMA'S BIRTHDAY
Was on day 1 of the camp so we went to eat on Sunday instead. Always wanted to try brotzeit and I finally did! (And my siblings were in total amazement because I voluntarily said I wanted beer. But I was thinking heck it, it's a German restaurant so lai lah)
Meet my mum, the alcoholic. Nah, kidding.
And meet the food we ate too.

D3 CAMP 2014 - DIVERGENT
So what else to say. Camp lor. Hahaha. Every year, I hold a different role. Participant, organiser, facilitator. And I got to say the facilitators are the most under-appreciated. They run around everywhere to do things but the freshies don't really see that.
But I got my moment of fame when they wanted to show the bloopers of the video annnddd I was up there. With tiny eyes. Doing weird stuff. :(

But interesting things that happened:
- my selfie skill is very lousy (which helps in my station so that's good)
- Turtle henna
- there is another Shi Ling in D3 now (she won best camper and I'm kinda proud. Like we-have-the-same-name pride)
- too many people snore (including myself)
- I am a Divergent (with 13 other people and the comm so the shirt is kinda only applicable to us MUAHAHA)
- a lot of walking around
- Mark's epic response to Collin when he found that he was a divergent
- the divergents winning the 'war game'
- greaaaaat Day 2 food
- watching Frozen during dinner HAHAHA

This post is way too long so I'm not gonna check for grammar or spelling errors.

More than 100 Happy Days

Hiiiiiiiiiii, it's been a while yaaaaaaa. Because I've been busy. But my procrastinating self is coming out for a short while because it's time to update a bit before I continue to go back to reality (read up on book sources for masina) so let's talk about something, like the 100 Happy Days project (http://100happydays.com/).

I wanted to join this challenge but the thought of posting something on insta for 100 days consecutively makes it so sian (because I'm so lazy sometimes) and as a person with a not-very-exciting life there is a high chance of repetition so I decided not to and instead, make a mental note when I am happy each day/time.

SO here's a list I complied of super easy things that make me happy, let's include a photo for each point haha:
- When I see Meowna (or pets in general)
(This was sooooooo long ago, when she came not long ago and only stayed downstairs)

- When I eat nice food (ok this is not super easy but quite)

(Waffles. So self-explanatory)

- When I dance (usually makes me happy, like 99.5% of the time)
(See how happy I/everyone look?)
(But actually hor, honestly I thought I was gonna fall so I had to distract myself but cheering then this happened)

- When I hang out with my friends (watching them interact is funny enough already)
(Latest Eggs & Berries outing, missing Chu Yi, Pearly and Wilson)

- When I buy something in a super nice colour. Like this post-it
(It was love at first sight when I saw this colour hahahahaha)

- When my insta has, like a lot of likes
(Let's face it, we all like to have a lot of likes on the picture we post.)
(50 is my highest so far, which is quite low if you compare to all my popular friends but it makes me sooooooo happy HAHAHA)

- When I get home before night falls, provided that I'm not sick
(Yea, I was half sick when I took this photo)

Ok so there are obviously still things that make me happy but this post would be wayyy too long by the time I'm done so let's move on. It is a great idea to get people to post something that makes their day happy. I'm happy for my friends who had completed 100 days and I have no doubt my friends who are still on this challenge (because they started it later) that they would complete it.

'But what happens on days when they didn't post a photo??' You wonder. Yea, I wonder too.

Precisely this is another reason why I didn't join the challenge because I know that there would be days when I will be so upset by something that it overshadows the happy thing. Like the time I found out that the BP recital is during capstone implementation weeks and I had to quit because I won't be able to go for the recital. (I found out right before I was going to sleep and felt so bad that I couldn't sleep properly that night) (I think it might be because of that then I fell sick because I felt so terrible for dumping my friends [we were so excited to be able to dance together again] and I was almost falling sick then BAM)

So that would mean that it's not really 100 happy days but more like 100 - x happy days. x meaning the days you didn't post a photo.

So before you think I'm a miserable person for not joining the challenge because I knew I will fail it, I am doing pretty well just thinking of 'what made me happy today' because of some YouTubers I follow. Bubz always writes in a book called 'Today I am grateful for' in her vlogs and Ingrid said her favourite quote is "Everyday may not be good but there is something good in everyday", which then became my favourite quote too because it does make so much sense. Both of them has made me try to see the good in everyday. I may not see it every single day but yes, most days I see it. (Though it might get harder and harder because all the stress's coming now but I'll try)

For example, if I drop my stuff on the floor and someone helps me to pick it up, it is enough to be grateful for already. If I am able to come home for dinner and see that my mama has cooked my favourite veggies, I am super happy already. (SIMPLE ENOUGH YO)

So why go and be happy for only 100 days (or 100 - x days)? Go be happy for as many days as you can.

P.S. I shared a picture of the quote (that I made hehe) on my insta but deleted it because I felt that I couldn't find the something good in everyday for so many days after I posted it. The good things are coming back again but if something terrible happens again and I lose it for dayyyys, I will delete the quote because I am a selfish human bean. :P (Don't hate me)

P.P.S. Time to read the book sources now hurhurhur

P.P.P.S If you are wondering what is the something good I have today, I actually have a few things!
1. I didn't fall even though I slipped about 5 times while walking down the stairs because it was raining. Same flight of stairs somemore. Terrifying experience. #accomplishment
2. It stopped raining when I reached buona vista so I didn't have to open my umbrella to walk to rochester mall!! Wahaha
3. I didn't really have enough money for lunch but I managed to have enough to buy a cup of bubble tea which is really helpful because I only started getting hungry at 5 plus.
4. Sister is going overseas for 10 days so now THE ROOM IS MINE, MUAHAHAHAHA (she just left the house)
5. I saw Meowna today :D

Saturday, 3 May 2014

Taking some time today to do some posting because
1. I haven't posted in a while hahaha
2. I'm not going for class today so got a bit of time
3. Ought to post more before I run out of time in the near future because Year 3.

TADA. So the first week of Y3 just went past like that and then I fell sick on week 2. Like fever and everything. It started with cough then fever then flu then throat infection. And when night comes, I feel like Charmander... Because I keep having fever at night then my hands (and legs) felt really veryyyyyy warm.

But of course, Charmander is a lot cuter than I am, I do have self-awareness ok.

Seriously when I don't go to the doctor, I don't go to the doctor but when I go ah, everything comes. :( Just hoping that was the last visit to the doctor for the rest of Y3. Or forever.

So other than describing my sick days, I felt like setting some goals for Y3 or at least this sem.
1) Plan a damn timetable because I do not have wonderful time management.

2) Survive sem 3.1 trying to force certain people (AND MYSELF!!!) to hand in their work (AND MINE TOO!!!) on time. (2 times already gahhh)

3) Try to go for at least Friday/Saturday classes even when super busy (therefore must achieve goal 1) because dancing is stress relieving.

4) Stay happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (as much as I can)
(P.S Does anybody wanna buy this for my birthday because it's sho prrrreeeeedddyyy and my birthday is coming bahahahahaha)

5) Go for internship interviews and ace them, stop being so nervous, you stupid Shi Ling. And presentations. And all the pitches. (What on earth my IS have individual pitch too :((((((()

6) GET CUMULATIVE GPA TO 3.2, which means the GPA for this sem must be 3.6704 and above.

Omg I'm so gonna work hard! *sleeps for the rest of the day*

Happy?

Today (I mean, yesterday) was a pretty good day. I don't know why but yes it is.
Woke up feeling very generous so I extended my breakfast buying service to my sister (I rarely buy people breakfast happily, let alone OFFER to buy) but she didn't take it because she had to go out for lunch with her colleagues at 11plus.

List of happy things today:
- THE WEATHER WASN'T SO TERRIBLE
- Official first day of using new phone (YAY)
- The battery lasts pretty long
- Made my lock screen time and date and day slightly more visible by changing the background to light blue
- Actually finished my fishball noodle during breakfast (usually I can't finish the last few mouthfuls because I get sick of the noodle taste)
- Thought today was Thursday so I had to clean the house but nope, I did it yesterday because today is Fridayyyyyy
- Remembering that I don't have classes on Thursday (until I get too busy with capstone, then the free time will be spent there)
- Forgot about self-prac, which starts at 5 so I didn't planned to go out earlier but still reach on time
- Still reach earlier than most people
- Dance lor (today the swag walk reminded me of the cactus-y dance in sec 1/2 because we walked something like that too but with less swag shoulders then HAHAHAHA) (and I don't have much swag)
- Found Cynthia who thought the hype for TFIOS was slightly too overrrrr too
- Hiok :D
- PASSED LEVEL 70 OF JELLY SPLASH AFTER LIKE 5 DAYS LOL (not even gonna try and get 3 stars because passing it is like pure luck)
- Dug through some old photos to post on insta (hehe) and found my all-time favourite extreme unglam picture of my brother (but I'm nice enough to not post it). Unfortunately, my sister doesn't have one (or I wasn't old enough to remember).

I think the worst thing today was just getting spicy nuggets from Old Chang Kee accidentally. Like I didn't even know they sell spicy nuggets????!!!?!?!??!!? But I changed the remaining with Jerald so everything's fine. OH and having sucky potatoes for lunch because they were burnt :((((

All these still don't really justify why I'm SO HAPPY today leh. Now I don't wanna go to sleep because I might wake up and be super duper grumpy but good night. And it seems extremely wordy above so here's a picture that can show how happy I am. (I feel like I might be Tris with the Amity serum injected lol [Insurgent reference])

P.S. Speaking of which, Divergent was like a pretty nice book but Insurgent just goes on and on. Like they run to some place, they are safe. Ten seconds later, the traitors come, then they go away. Then they come again, then they go again. Then they come YET AGAIN, and they go away. But I'm still about halfway through the book so I hope the plot gets better. Might be happy also because not reading Insurgent today might have contributed a little :P

P.P.S. Yesterday (or the day before yesterday) was a little happy too because it took me quite a while to find a shop that has the screen protector for my phone (even though it's a flagship phone, seriously) and I took the bus in a round because I haz concession [Home -> Far East -> Dhoby -> Home] (read: I could have walked but nah). And even though I have like a holiday bucket list which says to sew a laptop sleeve from scratch but I was too lazy and I have no money at the point of time during the two times I was at Spotlight so I ended up buying a Ripples sleeve again~ Like I saw the design on their FB page in the very morning and I was like "that's it man" and I got it in the same day. NO MOAR BAGS BECAUSE I GOT THREE FROM CAMBODIA YA.

Tuesday, 8 April 2014

And hello, it's been a while since I posted something hehe

Summary of the past week:
- My phone overheated and died :( Lost all my convos on whatsapp even though the chats are still there
- Dance
- More dance
- Read Divergent in about plus minus 2 days.

Yes. Very uneventful except for the books, so let's continue to today.

The reason I chiong finish reading Divergent yesterday because I wanted to finish before watching the movie today. I like to have my own imagination of the story before having a set image (or a whole move) to it. Even though it sucks because I would always prefer the book to the movie but it's ok, having imagination is important. Like how President Snow turned out to be exactly how I pictured, all Santa Claus-y and wearing the shade of colour I pictured him to be wearing too.

Unfortunately, the movie is not quite what I expected. There is a chasm but I thought it was filled with water? The Pit is super bright but I don't think it's supposed to be? They skipped a lot of parts like the super gross Edward-having-knives-in-his-eyes, I understand why it's not included even though I feel like it's crucial but things like Tris having 5 fears shown in the movie when she's supposed to have 6? Jeanine being inside Dauntless at the last part when she's supposed to be at Abnegation? Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? And ohohoh, Christina was supposed to be the one who took the flag because she's taller than Tris and she could reach the flag but in the movie Christina is shorter and Tris took the flag?

I should be less upset because I should have known books confirm provide more details than movies but sigh~
#books4lyfe #nerds

But ok, after the movie we went for Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day :D And it's our second year having FCD so we got a stickerrrr (not the ticket stub) for me, Choo, Ben while the rest got first year cause they weren't with us last year.
Met Dinis and Elysa there, hurhurhur.

And while I was trying to blog, Meowna came in the house and decides to loiter for an hour. Here's a picture
"I'm just gonna chill here, ya. Don't bother about me."

New phone coming tomorrow. Hehehehehe

BACK

I've been back since Sunday but it's ok. Pretty sure there're less than 10 readers anyway.

Never been away from home for this long (2 weeks) and there's so many things I've learned.
These kids may not have many things in their lives, but they appear to be contented (because we should not assume that they ARE, said Nara/Mr Ong/Mr Wong/Ms Jie Yi). So when will I stop thinking about what I don't have and count my blessings instead?

Their excitement of having lessons makes me wanna treasure my chance of receiving education because many of them want to learn so much, but they just aren't able to. (It's hard to really like my lessons because I just want to sleep sometimes but still.)

Which brings me to a side note that one day, we went to eat froyo because there's free wifi and we went to update instagram and whatsapp and check out exam results. And I got my highest GPA out of all sem (3.3636!!!!!!) (not cumulative) everrrrrrrrr in poly life. :')))))))))))) Which means my cumulative GPA improved. It's not veryyyyy significant but I achieved my primary goal which is to bring my GPA back to a 3.0 at the very least. Seriously, it teaches that it's damn easy to do/get something negative but making it good/getting the bad out takes soo much effort because overall, I only improve about 0.0896. 2 more sems left, I hope to bring only even highhhheerrrrrrrr.

Ok, honestly there are a lot of learning points, but I'm a little sian to continue already so I'll just post photos.
 HOBOS! And hoborary guest, Glennis
On ze ox cart then A LOT of kids just climbed onto ours.
 Chick chick chick :D

COWWWWW (ku)

P.S. I think I look like a lobster when wearing a red shirt and tanned. And I'm too lazy to upload more photos because it takes a bit of time so too bad if you aren't my FB friend then :P

Saturday, 15 March 2014

Lack of updates the past few days because everyday is dance dance dance. My mum hasn't really realised that I seemed to be going for dance almost everyday but I think it'll be fine if I can show her that I can manage work + dance together well (hehehe). Speaking of which, I really hope to get the job at pv becauseeeee I really need $$, not just to buy phone but also contacts D: With me using contacts almost daily and the supply running down rapidly. It's just omg.

And when I'm not dancing, I'm watching this drama, which I've already watched but I really like the front part when it was the younger actors. Like they have more chemistry than the adults, so they made me cry so bad. It's sooooooooooooooo saaaaddddddddddddd (I could be quite distracted by my surrounding but still cry cry cry cry CRY). But generally, you just cry quite a bit throughout the drama lah. Just not as much as One Litre of Tears because that one is incomparable.

And I'll be flyinggggg off to Cambodia in a few more days. A little scared but mostly excited. But also quite sian because I'll have to miss quite a few training and the results release date and IS choosing date (I think). WHY. WHY THIS TRIP CANNOT BE A SUBSTITUTE FOR ANY IS MODULE. WHY.

This is the end of a short post. Goodbye.

Monday, 10 March 2014

Random updates because I am bored:
1. The haze. I can smell it and my eyes are getting irritated. And you thought the haze last June was worse but no leh, I didn't smell it the other time and my eyes were less irritated, I think. Now I just feel like closing my eyes and sleep because it's feeling crappy.

2. Read Salvation of a Saint and concluded that I don't have a mind brilliant enough to become a murderer so I can safely read all the murder and suspense stuff.

3. Matcha Mcflurry is back. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. It's by far one of the nicest seasoned mcflurrys (mcflurries?) ever and it still has Oreos in it. The passionfruit one was nice but there's not Oreos. Really? I thought the attraction of Mcflurry was because of its Oreos? Why remove it in a special flavour? :( Didn't try the sesame one because I don't really like sesame so there.

4. The plane that disappeared still has yet to be found, there are passengers who used stolen passports. I've been thinking that the plane has been hijacked since I read that there are 2 passengers onboard who used stolen passports. But the thing is where is the plane now??? Please let all those innocent people be safe. Watched the news this afternoon and some minister in M'sia said that if it is necessary, they will have to improve the system (or something of the sorts). Really? Don't you think what has happened is bad enough? Do you want like 20 other people to get through using stolen passports and hijack more planes before you do something about it?

ST had some profiles of the passengers onboard. These two are seriously heart-wrenching. (Screenshot from ST)
"When is daddy going to Skype?" Oh my goodness.
"I'll be back in a week. Then we can cut cake together" I think my heart just shattered.
 http://www.straitstimes.com/the-big-story/missing-mas-plane/story/missing-malaysia-airlines-plane-faces-mh370-20140310

5. Number 4 has made me kinda scared about flying since I'll be flying in a week. But mainly because I'm a super paranoid person. Haven't pack because no packing list. Mum and Dad keep demanding why I don't know much details. But the thing is I'm not provided so I cannot say what. Not like I get money for keeping things like that from them right.

6. My lower back aches like siao (yesterday also) but my bruise is gone. I'm planning to name my bruises this holiday to keep track but I don't have that great of a naming sense (except naming Su Min Martha) so I'll just name them by number. So far, bruise 1 and bruise 2 has visited. Bruise 1 is gone, bruise 2 is healing. :) I hope my back recovers tomorrow. And the plane mysteriously gets back safely or at the very least, be found.

Saturday, 8 March 2014

Hi, I basically gave up finding a job because nobody wants someone who can only stay for about 5 weeks and goes overseas for 2 weeks. :(
So I joined S24 (yea, I think it's official that I'm joining now sigh) because dance dance dance. Even though I really appreciate having the freedom to spend my time, slacking and going out and fulfilling some of the holiday bucket list (actually not really) but aiya, dance to keep fit lor. Seems extremely challenging -> lose weight de. And maybe I still stand a chance to work for about 1 or 2 day per week for this job nearby, by splitting the target days/hours with Pearly and Hai Ting? This one not confirm also lor. And if I don't get to work for those few days, I can read all the books on my list (Eleanor & Park, Salvation of a Saint, The Mortal Instruments) or wait in agony for the third book of the Shadowland series to come out (I think it's going to be the last book, which is good because no more cliff hanger endings that you have to wait for 10 months to read).
So to sum it up, the days I have to dance on some Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (Saturdays are slightly worse 'cause I have to switch between S24 at 10-12 and BP at 7-9 X.X). Expecting the list to grow longer when the competition draws closer, which seems far but it'll come by in a flash D: Not gonna join ITM this year because I need a sane mind to do capstone and 2 exams next sem, if I join hor, I don't know what state my mind would be in (but definitely not in the healthy state).
Went to Little Pancakes with my dancers and grandmama Choo yesterday. Our meeting time was 3.30pm but I was scared that I would be late so I came out of the house at 2.15pm because Google Maps said it would take an hour plus to reach. Annnnnnddd, I reached at 3pm -.- (I had to transfer a bus, which I waited 10 mins for, which showed how google map betrayed me for telling me such an inaccurate time) And a few of my unfilial kids reached at 3.40pm or 3.35pm with their grandmama Choo because they bought Koi and never asked their mama (me) if I want or not :(
I had the Ham & Cheesy one, and my, the pancakes are really small but the serving is still enough to make you full. Oh and I love places that already count the GST for you/places with no GST. And I liked that they did not pester me when I walked in alone and waited for half an hour without ordering things whoop.
Here's a screenshot of my pancakes because I am too far from my phone and cannot transfer the pictures to my laptop. Meaning there's no group picture because the group picture is not in my laptop too and it's mostly blur hahahaha. My love for pancakes increased just a little because I'm always a waffle lover even though the ingredients are the same (right?) But the lettuce is like omg damn sour. I would have finished it if the balsamic vinegar (or at least that's what I think it is) is not that sour. Ok I meant, if the dressing for the lettuce is not balsamic vinegar because balsamic vinegar is not balsamic vinegar if it's not sour. Balsamic balsamic balsamic hehehehiokhiokhiok. Got the spelling right on first try.
We went to school after Little Pancakes and I felt a little hungry again haha. So I drank teh bing (Mum, don't scold me please!) while watching the rest eat. Then felt like puking because I was too bloated from the water lol. I know I'm weird but sometimes I'm reaaaaaaaaaally weird.

Bye, gotta go get some knee pads before the bruise on my knee get bigger because training. But isn't it weird that it's the inside of my knee that got the bruise when it should be the outside?

*inserts invisible rants about Person A. All of you won't see it because it's a draft that's never gonna get posted MUAHAHAHA*

Thursday, 6 March 2014

TODAY (or rather, yesterday) WAS A GOOD SELFIE DAY WHOOP. SUPER DUPER MOMENTOUS MOMENT (momentous moment hahaha), like come on the last multiple nice selfie day was almost half a year ago, check that giant picture on the top of the page and it wasn't very good lighting some more hiok hiok hiok. So obviously I need to upload pictures.
This is the look at me I'm fabulous smile so need to have cartoon crown on my head.
This is normal commoner Shi Ling hahahahahaha.

Ok, so I went out to go spotlight shopping (which I did not buy any even though I spotted this super cute cloth but not suitable for laptop sleeve de, sian), random food hunting and mild gossip session with Meidian and Kailin. Had the famous bbq pork bun from Tim Ho Wan (only hahaha, because we heard the rest are like normal normal only), the colour of the bun can be nicer lah really. More golden brown? The ones we had were like prematurely taken out of the oven like that leh.
Then we had some shaved ice thing thing which is pretty ok.
And for dinner, we had a anti-climatic KFC dinner because I only had $7 left hahahaha Oh but if you are this great fan of Bandito (is it how you spell it) Pocket, faster go eat now because it's back. I'm very meh towards it, because it's spicy lah.

I'm a little hungry now, so let me post this and go to sleep before I find excuses to eat stuff in da haus.

Wednesday, 5 March 2014

Oh hello

Haven't blogged for ... 2 days? Hehe. Once again, my favourite way of saying what I've done the past few days plus random stuff.

1. Pre-YEP stuff
It's pretty cool because it was my first time visiting DiD and they said that the scenario was built for YEP students before they go on their trip so it makes me think what the scenarios will be if it was for other things. Here's a true picture of what you see inside
Yup, with a small red light on top too. When we went outside, I was slightly dizzy for like an hour. Hahaha

Then we went to a student care centre, which made me realise how I take really long to warm up to kids because look at ITM, I only felt closer to the kids when we were at Kallang Theatre lol. Makes me a little scared because we're going to a primary school at Cambodia. But there was this super duper hyper boy who sounded like he needed an ambulance because when he laughed, he was breathing so heavily hahahaha

Next meeting is on next wed, 10am - 5pm or something!!! SO LONG THE HOURS. And I'm looking forward to pack my luggage because I like packing things into boxes (technically a luggage is a box, don't argue with me). Hiok hiok.

That was all for Monday, I had a seriously hard time recalling what I did at night just now, but when I recalled I was like 'oh right, I did nothing.'

2. Spotlight, dinner, bms
Tuesday was quite sian in the day because I found out that I didn't get a call from my potential employer (HOW, NEED TO FIND ANOTHER JOB, LIFE IS DIFFICULT WHEN ALL THE EMPLOYERS ARE LOOKING FOR LONG-TERM PART-TIMERS OR PRETTY GIRLS), then I spent the day drifting in and out of sleep. Oh and I painted my nails and I think it looks pretty decent :D
Cannot really see 'cause it's silver. But watching tons of tutorials kind of worked. Or maybe just because it's silver so it's not that visible so cannot really see if I made a mess?

Then I went out at 4.20 to plaza sing so I can go spotlight and look for materials to sew my laptop sleeve, but the cloth not thatttt cheap and there's no pattern that struck me like "OMGSONICEIWANT", so I left without buying anything. (going to spotlight again later because Meidian wants to buy her knitting stuff I think.)
Met the hobos for dinner and because every time we meet at Scape, lunch/dinner will always be like Koufu or Macs so I dragged them to 18 Chefs and I have no picture of my food because it's baked rice and nothing much interesting to see. (but my sauce is creamy mango which makes it special, not bad lah)

And then we went for BMS meeting, which I remained quite quiet throughout except when I said if we want to do our stuff (since it's supposed to be a secret cannot say what we gonna do mah) on a train track, we just wait for it to breakdown then can liao (and a few of them laughed). Picture of those who came~~~ (Suat kee and I looked slightly similar hur hur hur)(koped from Kay's insta bahahaha)
And then I went home and saw Meowna waiting for me. Actually, I think she's just trying to claim the floor as hers by lying in the middle of nowhere but she saw me and she jumped to her feet. (Awww)
"Come! I bring you home!" she meows. Hahahahahaha

Random interesting things:
Came home from breakfast just now and told mum that I saw her friend. She said she saw the same friend in her dreams and they gossiped about me... Why do people dream of more normal things while I dream of people dying and stuff grrrr

While listening to Let It Go, I might have remembered half of Elsa's actions in the movie. For example,
Let it go *conjures pretty flakes on one hand*,
Let it go *conjures pretty flakes on another hand*,
Can't hold it back anymore *conjures Olaf*
Let it go *conjures pretty flakes on one hand*,
Let it go *conjures pretty flakes on another hand*,
Turn away and slam the door *turns away and slam invisible door, snowflakes drop*
I don't care *conjures snowflakes with both hands on one side*,
What they're going to say *conjures snowflakes with both hands on another side*
Let the storm rage on (I don't know if there's any action here),
The cold never bother me anyway *releases her cape with much swag*

It's gonna be damn long if I continue but obviously places like when she runs up her icy stairs, makes her palace, throws her crown, unties her hair, change her outfit and walks to the balcony with so much sass will not be forgotten. :)
Sometimes I am truly amazed by the things my brain remembers. Why no remember exam notes instead????

It's raining?!

Mum just shouted that it was raining and it is! How long do you think it will last? I guessing less than 5 minutes but I do hope it'll be longer because all the poor grass in Singapore are dying.

So it's Sunday and there is still no reply from the job I went to interview for on Thursday. My back is aching and I have no idea why and what I did yesterday that could have caused it. My arm is still like 0.5% sore. So I listened to Latch (Acoustic) by Sam Smith about 20 times already (only found the name of the song yesterday) because Mel used it for cool down in the past few weeks and I thought it was nice. (But nothing can be compared to the speed of Vivien listening to Let It Go, I think she might have hit 250 already hahaha).

OH and I bought beer for the sister on the way home yesterday (she asked me to buy alcohol when I come back from Cambodia, tsk) and the person didn't even ask me for my card even though I'm wearing the NP50 shirt. Do I look old or is the person lazy? Or both? Or she has a age-reading mind?

So I went to BPP just now because it's the holidays and am pretty much allowed to do anything (legal) I want. So I went to the library and borrowed books, which is about some murder stuff again.

Don't go thinking that I'm a future murderer because I'm not going to be lah. I was first kinda tricked into reading suspense stuff a few years ago because I thought I was going to read about the typical rich-girls-backstabbing-each-other (NOT LITERALLY) high school stuff then when I read it, I was like WOAH, OK GOT MURDER INSIDE DE. That's was what got me started because I thought it was going to be a normal school girl thing BUT NOPE. So I was damn sad when the series ended (there were 2 series and they were linked and they ended about the same time some more). Then she wrote a new series called Shadowlands and it's more scary because as I read, I feel like I was getting chased by the murderer too (I'M SERIOUS). And she writes the book so excitingly, and she ends with a freaking cliff hanger (almost about 100 storeys high, if I had to make a comparison) "Yes, Rory, everyone on the island is dead." After 10 months of painful waiting then I finally know WHY everyone on the island is DEAD and she ends the second book with yet another cliff hanger. Kate Brian, I clap for you. HURRY UP AND RELEASE THE THIRD BOOK.

In case, you're wondering why Kate Brian is such a dark author, she actually writes more stuff under her real name, which is more towards the typical high school girl stuff. But I really like how she can switch between all these bitchy things to dark stuff.

Meowna update: She was having a nap near the lift when I came back. She woke up by herself like if there's a thought bubble you would see "!!!" so I called her to follow me but she stared at me like how my sister would look at me if I woke her up in the middle of the night. Oh well.

Episode 2 of my parents are nice (I kinda forgot about it previously :P)
1. Mum calls me at about 8.30pm every time that I said I was going home for dinner but haven't appeared at home yet.
2. Dad (tried to) made me feel better about my sore arm after injection on Friday because he said he had one too on Thursday (he was sick), not that I felt fine about my arm after that because sore is sore HAHA.

Will be bored so updates will be really random, really often in the next month.
Ok, the rain has stopped. That is expected. Time to listen to Latch again hiok hiok hiok.

Jelly jelly

The official start of holidays for NP kids is today so obviously I need to post something right right right. In my style, so it will be point form with elaboration when required. So far the three days after exams have been quite busy sia.

1. Exam
Only got 1 paper but it was not exactly easy for me because the things I remember were like half half only. GPA please don't fail me this sem by having negative or no improvements. But preferably something high enough to bring it back to a 3.0 or even 3.1 hiok hiok hiok (goal is not too far away 'cause 2.9928. Last sem I improved by 0.046.. Much significant, so wow)

2. Class BBQ
A somewhat successful class outing at last! Headed to Hannah's condo after the paper and most people went :D Still smelling nice at the end of the day (Hair sniffing fest between me, Kai Lin, Vivien and Qian Hui) (because I didn't cook muahahaha) (I use Dove shampoo thanks thanks). Somebody shouted out of the window from upstairs to 'shut up' lol. Come on, it's only 8pm at that time.
The class minus 3 people~~

My hair likes to act cute by qiao-ing sometimes. Heh heh
Went home at 11pm, slept at 1am.

3. Holiday job hunting
Woke up the next day AT 7AM WOW, FIRST DAY OF HOLIDAY SOME MORE. Because 9am at Ngee Ann City. Then we walked around ION then went to Tai Seng for more interview. And went to Meidian's house where I officially received my first mahjong lesson (learning speed still faster than my brother, just like when I learnt dai di). Realised that dai di and mahjong are actually slightly similar (prefer dai di any time because it's more portable). Went home at 8.45pm, ate dinner at 10.20? The things I do during holidays, so weird. hiok hiok
First Dunkin' Donut, yes, very little life experiences I have.
Charlie & Co. Student sized burger, the cheese was too overwhelming for me so I gave it to the rest. Why can't they put normal cheese??!!!?!?
Okok tiles only, I won the first and last game hahaha. Su min had so much beginner's luck she won almost every other game because she never even played cards before so it's the ultimate beginner's luck. Every time I almost win but Su min took it away sigh.

Still haven't receive call from the company leh, sad sad. I could have started work if the other 2 that I applied for wanted me but they wanted people who can stay on longer terms so too bad :(

4. Friday
Vaccination for Cambodia and dance! The vaccination took less than 2 minutes (counting from the moment I stepped into the room), and the nurse told me to breathe in deeply, I was only one-third of my deep breathing then the needle went in and I was like !!! in my head. Nurse, you no give me chance to breathe, I am sad HAHAHA. So the nurse kinda freaked me out a little because siem reap apparently is a malaria-filled (? is it the correct description) and I keep getting bitten recently so I SCARED. Then Glennis managed to use her magical convincing powers to get the teachers to buy 2 cans of repellent instead of 1 so we can share or something. Then me, choo and Glennwas went for lunch at Ajisen. Then we went to school and just slack because of our injections then our arms are quite sore so we cannot do anything. (Did I say that Glennis arranged the date for the injections bearing in mind that we had dance at night? She was like "Ah should be fine de." In the end she didn't have to get an injections and Choo and I were like "we need to partner each other and not be burden to other people") Dance was pretty ok, Choo and I managed to dance most of it muahahah but it was so weird to not be able to swing one arm completely freely while dancing.
My Cha Shu Ramen, without the gyoza sides because the gyozas don't look nice.
Selfie before lunch because.

5. TODAY
Arm still feels a little sore. And there's alumni dance later from 7-9, I hope my arm fully recovers :P
Nope, still no job, no materials to sew for laptop sleeve, so I'm blogging here lor.
Didn't plan to go for Jesper's class too (Oops, sorry hehe) because there's too much gap in between the two classes. 12-2 at lavender (PA) and 7-9 at bugis (laselle) so don't really need travelling time. Next week ah, maybe next week. Will have to find something to do while waiting for class.

Starting to plan for my laptop sleeve and what I need so I did some research on DIY ones but the instructions I found are so confusing. I think I'll just do it any way I want haha. Maybe a nice scallop pattern by the side? (Cannot find the picture liao T-T) All I know is I need some cushion or padding for the sleeve because I am damn scared that I will drop it one day again. The one and only time I dropped my laptop was one or two weeks into poly and I alighted the bus and I have absolutely no idea how my hands did it but the sleeve slipped so I kind of sent my laptop flying to the ground (it fell parallel to the ground PHEW). Nothing was damaged so I think it must be due to the thick cushion I have for my current sleeve. :D Cushioned sleeves make wonderful pillows too muahaha.

Oh speaking of butter fingers, I spilled Coke on myself during the BBQ because I somehow didn't hold my cup properly. To think that there were people who were threatened to be dropped into the pool and I wasn't one of them but I end up spilling liquid on myself. At least it was my arm so it didn't get on my clothes. Sometimes I wonder why am I still surprised when I do things like that. But yes, I still get surprised.

LIST OF STUPID THINGS SHI LING DOES:
- trip over air (multiply about 1 million times)
- trip over the drain grille thingy (also multiply about 1 million times)
- casually swings hand into the wall (multiply 10 times)
- kicks her foot/toe on the door, the bedframe, the wall, the cupboard (multiply about 10 times)
- sends laptop flying because jelly hands
- sends coke flying on arm because jelly hands
- sends liquid eye liner because stupidity (check a few previous post ago)
- holds laptop with one hand, almost dropped it but YES FOR FAST REACTION (multiply 10 million times)
- almost cooks her hand with the instant noodle water tap at 7-Eleven (Sec 2 story, still don't know why my hand is uncooked haha)
/edit
- forgetting to bring her towel home after the cruise trip and only realised that 2 weeks later (read it on my old blog, I clap for me too)

I need to end my post here because the list is getting very long. So here's my all-time favourite picture of Meowna, whom I didn't see for the past 2 days (But I heard her fighting with other cats tsk tsk tsk), because she rarely stays still when she sees a phone.
Slight regret not joining S24 but too bad, the feeling should go away when I work haha. Excited because Cambodia, picnic, Tim Ho Wan. :DDDDD

/EDIT/ 23:54
Dance today was great (Mel please get well soon though!), we went through some of the exercises and some new ones. But I kind of strained my hip flexor or something (somewhere near that area?), so blahhhh. But I had slightly more balance while doing the exercises muahahahaha #levelup #cuemusic. Had a nice hair day (hair curled a little, all in the same direction! Woohoo), visit from Meowna and took a nice picture of her! (She rarely allows us to take a picture, mum tried almost everyday and I think she only had a decent photo of her. I have quite a few MUAHAHAHAHAHA *points to the photo above*). But here's the one I caught just now~
