Hello~ This is another post before I study for my exam tomorrow (TOMORROW!!!!) and I wanna talk about the SMRT train breakdown yesterday. I wasn't affected by it but a lot of people are, working adults, students, blahblahblah. Then I saw this article being shared on FB which is a letter written to TRS by a poly student who missed his exam due to the train breakdown and how he had to retake the make up exam which is a lot harder than the actual exam paper. When the comment section had a lot of fire and if anyone attempted to put a little water (to say something a little forgiving towards SMRT), they end up getting flamed by at least 10 other netizens. It's like a freaking online war zone.

First of all, RP kid, why, I mean, WHY WOULD YOU WRITE TO TRS? WTF ARE YOU TRYING TO DO? You could have written an open letter, made it public on your facebook (and having tons of your peers sharing your letter on their page), send it to SMRT directly but you are just like "Ok, I'm gonna go right at the wrong place to shoot about SMRT because I'm so smart and I want everyone who is against SMRT to know about it and come and get angry with me hahaha" I'm not saying that SMRT is faultless for the train breakdown but come on they couldn't really have purposely chosen that exact timing so you can miss your exam right? Really, you want to go into politics to change it? Why don't you become the CEO of SMRT instead ya? I'm not gonna try asking why you stood at the train station for so long when you can try and look for alternative routes to school because if I were you, desperate and all to get to my exam on time, I would have look the hell up on alternative routes even if it means changing 10 buses before getting to school. Oh and if you have financial difficulties, I suggest that you get student concessions because they are absolute life savers.
So after that, the war zone-ish comment section, people complaining about how SMRT claimed that "77 trains = getting home sooner", well so they have been busy buying new trains so that they can hopefully provide better service stuck-up people like you all. And someone (whom I find really smart), said that the breakdowns are happening because everyone gave them a lot of pressure but not time (because world class transport mah) so they just keep buying trains and not fix the current ones so more trains get stucked when an old train breaks down means it takes longer for services to restart. And then all you guys do is complain that "SMRT is like the largest transport company, it's almost a monopoly (except it's a duopoly with SBS) so we cannot help it right? Must take the buses and trains everyday so all we do is complain lor."
Then there was one person who said that the services have been running decently for 99% of the time. I've got to disagree with that too. Because 99% is too high a percentage. More like a reasonable 80-90%? But come on, people HAVE to disagree with it because the number is simply too high right? So someone said "I think it's more like the reversed" Oh really? Dude, if trains function 1% of the time and break down 99% of the time, you would have spend an entire week to get to and fro work (or not because you would have been jobless, haha) because all you do is probably sit inside the train and use your phone to complain complain complain.
Yea, so I take the bus often and I've got to admit that I always complain about the buses taking too long to come, but really, I am not the most patient person in the world and if I wait for more than 10 minutes for a bus, I go CRAAAZY (I think I'm learning to be more and more patient now so shut up, I'm improving). My longest waiting time is like an hour. Really. Train takers, if you ever wait for a train for an hour on a non-breakdown day, I give you all the rights to tear down SMRT cyber-ly yup, but it's definitely not possible. So you there, shut up.

So you guys sit down and complain and complain and complain, flame at people who pitied SMRT the slightest, met at Hong Lim Park to spit on your EZ-Link cards (and obviously clean it so that you can take the public transport home from this little gathering). You know what I really suggest to do if you want to show SMRT who's the boss and who can bring them down? The following:

1. Don't, I repeat, DON'T take the public transport. At all. I'm serious. Show them that if you can choose to not take the only choice you have. Walk, go out early, ride a bicycle or hitch a ride or something. Just don't use the public transport. I tell you they will panic. But people living in Singapore are not the most cooperative people in the world and they like sleeping in so this will not work. But if a day ever comes, like the cook a pot of curry day, I am going to be the first person in line to sign my name and be totally assured that I will buy a bike and ride it to school. I'm waiting.

2. Be totally rich and set up a rival transport company. I used to have this idea that I will set up a bus company when I was in secondary school because they take so freaking long to come. (Ok the government might put a stop to this but it's going to be worth a try right?) Or you can set up secret transport services that everyone knows about except the government.

Yep, this is an end to the post which I had to blog about because I was so pissed by the RP kid who sent a letter to the wrong place. I wish myself all the good luck for my exam tomorrow and not so much for your supposedly-extremely-difficult make up exam, you think they will make it easier since so many other students were late due to train faults?

MUM BOUGHT YAKULT

Yes, it's so momentous it deserves a title and a blog post of its own.

Sunday, 23 February 2014

So here's some updates before I go off and 'revise' my work (aka looking at my notes and copying answers for the past year papers) before I need to complete it tomorrow before going to the revision class, which I need to go because there are some questions that I don't even know how to answer like whaaaaaaaaaattt and so I need to learn how to answer them so I don't fail my exam and get a C (or horror of horrors, worse like D, E or F!!!!!!! DEN DEN DENNNNN) for my grade or something.

So yesterday I went to dance from 2 - 4 then 6 - 7.30, which is close to 4 hours and I was almost dying after the second class 'cause the warm up was so intense omg I wanted to give up so badly but I was like nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, keep goingggggggggggggggg. But I'm happy because I haven't danced this long and this much for a while due to study break but yay we're resuming class this Friday. While I was on the way home, my legs felt like they were going to cramp 'cause they are just SO achy from dance, then my right shoulder was red from all the shoulder stands, like someone pinched and slapped it repeatedly on the same spot with a few misses. But yea, the choreo's cool so everything is finee~~ (Oh but I went to sleep with achy legs and half achy shoulder, it was terrible)

Today, I woke up with an even more terrible ache like OMG WOW, my legs are aching, my butt is aching, my side ads are aching, I had to waddle around to feel less of the aches, my right shoulder has this giant bruise (I tried taking a picture but my arm kinda looks like a really small thigh so nope). Oh but when I woke up, Meowna was right outside the house and Dad was playing with her hehehehe. And then I spent the rest of the day watching those ________ React videos (a few of the ones that I like better are the HP and the deathly hallows pt. 2 and the Rickroll* one HAHA) and moping the floor and groaning because SO ACHY and now I'm going to get started on my exam paperrrrrrs.

Well, I'm gonna disappear, eat my apple and do my papers. See ya~ (3 moar daze to exams, how prepared ahhhh)

*If you don't know what is rickroll, SHAME ON YOU. I'm providing the link so you can watch the reaction video. Have fun! (Smart me actually guess what they were going to do at the last part)
About rickrolling: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickrolling

Turn your volume a little lower first, 'cause the starting is a little loud

NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP, NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN.

Dream houses and dreams

Back for more procrastination time hiok hiok hiok. So I saw a friend posting this link of nice hdb houses (http://hdb-interiors.tumblr.com), which makes me feel so inspired to earn lots of money then get poor again by spending all my money on a house and going all out on the renovations.
But then hor, the account also made me wonder since when are hdb houses so biggggg because they all seem bigggggg and I thought houses nowadays are quite small???

Moving on to the pictures that I like the most, I realised they are from http://www.zlconstruction.com.sg/2013/01/natura-loft-dbss/, the bedroom looks like one in a hotel (lol or so I think), the study space thing is like my dream living room condition because look at the window seat!!!!!!! It's so niceeee except for the fact that it's not very wide and it's a study instead of the living room. And my toilet. Must have a bathtub. And instead of shelves for the soaps, it will have in-the-wall cubbies (which was inspired by the toilet in the hotel room during the Melaka/Malacca trip)

On another totally different topic, I went on to some dream interpretation website because I don't often remember dreams so it's cool to find out what it means what I remember one hahaha.
So today, I dreamt of getting chased a monster which means I am running away from aspects of myself that I find repulsive and/or ugly. Is it my refusal to concentrate in study? Maybe.
And then I went to the toilet to hide with suat kee from the monster (something authoritative says the website. I think the monster is authoritative at that point in time) means I am feeling guilty?
And then we became biscuits or donut or something, but there's no interpretation for biscuit but for donut it meant I am feeling lost and trying to myself and my purpose in the world (wahhhh, it's kinda half true?)
So we thought we were safe for lunch after a while and we went to buy Subway, sandwich means there's a lot of pressure and stress being put on me. (internship stuff? exam?)
But we got captured at the end by the monster's army of people (I think they look more like Nazis though, must be still thinking of Rolfe hahaha) which means I feel trapped in my life in general. :( Trapped by whatttt?
Then there's this blank part of my dream (not really), but they skipped directly to the end (like how in movies, they just put 'A few months later' except I don't know how much time has past in my dream).
SO, at around the end of my dream, I lost my memories or rather the bad guys erased my memories (yes and I know that and I am as shocked as my friends to find that I lost my memory) means that I must let go of my past to move on. This is cool except that I don't know what past????
So all in all, I'm super stressed about life and I don't know what to do about it. Cool dream. Not really.

Dreams are so weird sometimes ugh. Glad I don't really remember my dreams when I wake up because I bet 90% of the time my dreams are weird. 98% of the dreams I remember are not nice ones mah. Such as, everyone getting squished like ants by this dinosaur until I'm the only one left in the world and me getting extremely pressurised (it was O level period), crying so badly that I was still crying when I woke up because I thought I was still in the dream. The only relatively ok dream I had and remembered until this day was a recurring (twice or thrice) dream of me flying (or gliding like an eagle cus I didn't flap any wings or something) through one of the arenas in the Crash Team Racing game (Crash Bandicoot, if you don't know what is CTR) [if you don't know Crash Bandicoot, shame on you], so when I do quizzes that ask me what super power I want, it will always be to fly. To fly in your dream means you feel free of stuff. No wonder, it was a recurring dream when I was like 6 or something. It never happened now.
The arena I was talking about!!!

This post is getting way too long and I'm depressed about the interpretations of the dream 'cause it's so negative so this is all for today

The holiday bucket list (basically, if I gonna die after the holidays, what I want to do before that list) (side note: I've made this kind of list quite often and half the things don't even happen lol)

1. EAT SOME GODDAMN TRUFFLE FRIES
credits: jamieslx.blogspot.com
because I've never had any before and there is so much fuss about it, I just WANT to try it. I mean, I wanted to when I was at MEDZS (same concept as Marche) yesterday but it was $9.90 and I had rosti and a super expensive drink and chocolate fondant so there's about it.

2. FIND A JOB BECAUSE I ALWAYS SPEND SO MUCH ALL THE TIME.
and because I'm not dancing as much this holidays like the last 2 (NP50 and recital), need to entertain myself while my other friends prep for S24. And I want to be less burden to my dad

3. FIND ENOUGH MOTIVATION TO SEW A LAPTOP SLEEVE.
because my current laptop sleeve is dirty and I'm lazy to wash it and I don't want to buy another because it's $30 and I feel like sewing something.

4. CAFE HOP HOP WITH MY FRIENDS (HOBO AND VTTs)
because food. I hope they are cheap cafes though.

5. PICNIC WITH HOBOS
because we said we are going to. I'll just not bring any food (maybe) but my instax and so we can take pictures to keep :) Hanging out with the hobos adds on to 5.1 too

5.1. GO TO KAP THE LAST TIME AND HOBO BEFORE IT CLOSES
I'm one of the rare people who didn't spend a lot of their childhood at KAP (or that's what I remember), but KAP has certainly brought some memories recently like the time my sandals broke and choo piggyback me there HIOK HIOK HIOK and the time 3 other VTTs members and I spontaneously went after class and had an intensive workout because we laughed so much.

6. CYCLE WITH VTTS AND/OR HOBOS
Because I haven't cycled in years so I asked both groups. I hope we goooooooo. Like have picnic at east coast or something. hehehehe

7. EAT LESS SNACKS
totally doesn't match with bucket list number 4 and 5 lol but yes, I'm getting a little sad because I thought I would never get over 50 kg in my entire life but I did and I'm sad. (I hope it's muscle mass because it makes me slightly less sad than I'm gaining because muscles but I just don't want to gain weight at all leh). Working would help, I think.

8. ICE SKATE
because I really want to. since sec1. and I haven't done it at all. :(

9. TAKE MORE PICTURES WITH MY INSTAX
because I have some films expiring soon hahaha and I like to print my memories. and the digi cam at home spoiled so it's getting repaired.

And since, I'm getting on pretty well with studying for my exam next week (not really, but everyone says I am), I am starting to slack.. And I still dare to tweet about being a bsian instead of an asian. sigh

On a my mother and father are nice note,
1. Mum always cook rice for me because I am the greatest 饭桶 at home and I always want rice even though she wants porridge.
2. Dad washes the dishes. Yes.

Sorry about the double post today but I cannot stand it. This is a rage post about mothers who like to wrongly accuse their child(ren) of things that they may not have done but their siblings did. If you love your mother a lot and she doesn't accuse you wrongly EVER, you can skip this post.

Much as we love our mothers, sometimes they start sprouting wrong stuff to their friends. Like about 30 mins ago, my mum was complaining to me how my brother is wasting her time by showering because she wants to put the clothes she soaked earlier this morning into the washing machine (the clothes are being soaked in the toilet), like couldn't we (note how the accusation is so subtle here) bathe at 9 plus before she comes home from her daily jog??!!!!?!?!?!
So because I am such a nice daughter and she was complaining, I decided to go out later (since studying for exam is free and easy) and let my mum do her laundry first. But when my brother came out of the bathroom, my mum was on the phone. 'Ok', I thought to myself, 'I'm still not going to bathe because she might hang up the moment I step into the toilet and she'll go off again.'
BOY, BUT HOW WRONG AM I, she started to talk about how her children hogging the toilet all the time. So I got pissed because here I am letting her go first, delaying my schedule but she decided to talk on the phone with a friend, conveniently grouping ALL her children as a irresponsible, don't listen to their mum bunch of kids. Excuse me? So I stepped out to clarify that I am letting her go first and because she's on the phone and couldn't bear not to talk to her friend, she was like "You can go and bathe first what." SO I got even pissed off (but didn't say anything) because if she wasn't on the phone, she would bloody scold me if I even dared to ask if I can bathe first then she do the laundry.

To all of you, future parents, do not, I repeat, DO NOT ever lump your children as a bunch together if it is only one of them who are doing it wrong. Do not scold the child who is the only one at home, who did everything (like folding her clothes before the huge mountain of clothes on the sofa appeared), when her siblings are the one who are guilty of not doing it, just because it's convenient. I'm not saying you cannot gossip about your children on the phone with your friends but do get your facts right, because I haven't hog the toilet when you wanted to put the clothes in the washing machine for a long time and I am the one who always folds her clothes, yet get scolded because it's so convenient to pick on the one who is at home. Your child will be terribly upset when you wrongly accuse him/her, it seems a small matter to you, but it's a big matter to the child (like now, my mum is just very casual, no idea that I'm still a little pissed at her). Try and appreciate the child who is doing things right (TELL HIM/HER). Don't just say out the stuff that he/she did not do / did wrongly because they'll resort to writing it out on a blog post like what I'm doing.

But ultimately, to end this post, thanks mum for doing the laundry so I can fold my clothes and then get scolded for not folding my clothes even though I did fold my clothes. I know you're human and you make mistakes but stop saying that I never fold my clothes when usually I did less than an hour ago and the only pile of clothes left is my sister's (lol).
I'm a human too so don't judge me and I did appreciate my parents on the Happy New Yearrrrr post, I think I should do it more too.

(my future children, if you ever stumble upon this and I am doing complaining thing to you, I give you permission to wave this post in front of my face. unless you're on a laptop, I forbid you to wave a laptop in front of my face, tablet or phone is fine. oh and also unless, you really did something wrong so you need to reflect on your action.)

now time to get out of the house and study
Helloooo, haven't done a post since almost a week ago. So here's what happened in the past week:
- Finished presentations
- Handing up report
- Handing another report
- Handing yet another report
- Eating + going in the arcade on Valentine's Day with me friends
- Looking at me friends shop for make up ('cause I didn't bring enough money to buy lol)
- BP alumni dance prac 1! (not gonna do chinese dance so I'm quite sad. sigh)
- Watched a lot of movies for the first time (Mulan, Brave, Mean Girls, The Sound of Music, The Parent Trap and The Princess Diaries)

So it's time to start studying for my exam 'cause the date of my exam is quite near eh. And we're supposed to read through everything to secure more marks. Gonna start todayy and maybe for a section or two, I'll stop and watch some movie and study and watch and study and watch because I think it works best for me.

So to elaborate (not really) on the Sound of Music, I finally watched the full thing since in primary school they always showed bits and pieces of it.
And here are some facts about the movie complied by me:
- I realised a lot of familiar songs are from the film, no wonder they always play it in music lessons. (Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss, Sixteen going on Seventeen, My Favourite Things, The Lonely Goatherd)

- Liesl (starred by Charmain Carr) is shooooo prettyyyyyyyyyyyy
- Rolfe (supposed to be Liesl's boyfriend or something) is a stupid dude who betrayed her (and the family) trust, so saddddd.

I am sixteen going on seventeen, innocent as a rose
Look at her and tell me she's not pretty eh

And then when she and Rolfe just start doing the bench jumping thing, it's like my most favourite part of everything. But afterwards, it got a little long and repetitive but it's quite funny to watch so it's ok.

And this part, she started dancing on her own was quite funny (obviously thinking of Rolfe lah)

But if only Rolfe didn't become a Nazi dude then they would have been together. So sorry about that, Liesl.

- The von Trapp children look quite nice too, except Louisa (oops)

 - Captain von Trapp is veh handsome

- The soften effect when they closeup on someone's face is a little over, making it a little irritating but it's a 1965 film for goodness sake, stop being so picky Shi Ling.

- Captain von Trapp changed his heart very quickly ah. He called off the engagement with the baroness so quickly when they (probably) knew each other longer than he and Fraulein Maria did.

- The last part at the Salzburg Music Festival (is this the correct name) (the reason why I wanted to watch 'cause I don't know and don't understand why they're running away, the school never showed any of the 'Heil, Hitler' parts), I was so bloody worried for them.
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodnight

Ok, so I'm mostly done after watching this part, 'cause I get a little panicky for their safety (they are obviously safe, I mean they are the leads of the show right) and then that's when stupid Rolfe put them in danger. Grrrr.

But I do like this part where the nuns are quite funny (and rightfully mean to the military guys)
Nun 1 (sorry I forgot their names): Reverend Mother. I have sinned.
Nun 2: I, too, Reverend Mother.
Reverend Mother: What is this sin, my children?
*gravely, they pulled out car engines part*

Ok so it is time to stop talking about movies and (try to study) but I think sixteen going on seventeen will be stuck in head for a while. YOU SHALL TOO, MUAHAHAHA

Should try to let it go, LET IT GOOOOOOO

#procrastinationtime #procrastinatewithShiLing

NEED A BIT OF REST FROM WORK 'CAUSE I'VE BEEN PHOTOSHOPPING TOO MANY THINGS FOR WORK TODAY.

So this is a fun stuff that I made (got this idea yesterday hiokhiokhiok)
Credits to http://clicksey.wordpress.com/2011/01/30/angry-hare/ for the hare picture. But of course, I added the words myself.

Past week happenings:
- Chinese New Year, not a fantastic one nor a not fantastic one
Fantastic in a way that I still won some money while playing. I get to eat snacks. The class was sick but we ate pizza together. Possible first A in my grade that I'll be proud of. Quite worried about presentations but they turned out pretty ok.
Not so fantastic because I had to do work. I didn't eat a lot of snacks. I'm sick and I tried to keep away from food bad for my throat but I didn't really (Tonsillitis please don't come back D: ). Quite worried about the grade for other modules. The economy not so good this year. :(

Well, there's this module that we could have some incentives so my group has been pretty solid and I have some plans on how to use that incentive (which seemed unlimited hahaha):
1) See a physio because my damn wrist hurts, again.
2) Buy a hard drive in case my laptop starts having a seizure. (PLEASE DON'T)
3) Use for Cambodia trip. (omg, we need to get injections??!!!?!?! DDDD: )
4) Buy stuff that I like and remember wanting to buy
5) Save up for a house
6) Eat it all away.
7) Stuff it under my pillow (choose between this or no. 8)
8) Put it in a butter cookie tin and then stuff it under my pillow (choose between this or no. 7)
9) Eat with my group mates to share our success
10) Buy more soft toys so I have less space for me on my bed

On another note, I guess it gets more unlimited if I add my ang pow money hehe

One more presentation left (this coming Tuesday), 4 more reports left, 1 test left, 1 accessed tutorial left and 1 exam left. UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF MONEY SPENT TO PRINT ALL THESE.

Oh, back to the list of things to spend on,
11) Printing out presentation slides, reports (approx. $10+++ for each module)

HI NGEE ANN POLY STAFF (I KNOW Y'ALL WILL STALK STUDENTS' BLOG),
Can y'all please make APR a less expensive course because I think we could have spend ABOUT $500 EACH on printing and buying and mounting things through our 3 years on top of paying school fees (which increases by about $50 each sem) and transport fees and food fees. I know doing all the printing, mounting is professional doing but still SO EXPENSIVE *sobs* But the things are nice when printed and mounted and we feel a sense of accomplishment. But nothing says SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT if I save money. (Ok, I hope this is the only post y'all would ever read lol)

JIAYOU TO ALL WHO ARE HAVING DEADLINES SOON. A+ FOR ALL OF U.

/edit/
I forgot to mention that I went to the doctor on the eve of CNY and it was so bloody expensive :'( $58 for consultation only. I think the doctors should lower their price on public holiday eve 'cause public holidays are such happy things but it's so sad that people have to fall sick so the price should be cheaper to make the sick people slightly more cheered up #ShiLinglogic But ok, the extra charge makes sens too because the doctors cannot rest at home during holidays. But I just set a mental note to take extra care during CNY period.

So I still went to see the doctor because I read online and they said throat infection can kinda only be cured with anti-biotics so...... (carrying medicine while visiting is so sad, sigh) $84 in total, most expensive visit to the clinic in a few years for now. And mum keeps telling everyone about it. Good thing is the anti-biotic is only for 5 days (I finished them in 4 and a half days 'cause I accidentally ate one after lunch, by right is only for after breakfast and dinner) and I've recovered on about day 4. Still don't really dare to binge eat 'cause I don't want to get tonsillitis relapse and PRESENTATIONS.
