HAPPY NEW YEARRRRR (1 day and 51 minutes)

(Too lazy to talk about anything else, let's just go straight to my new year resolution)

SAVE MONEY
which largely includes snacking less, shop less and a lot of self-control. Oh and with the 'save the number of the weeks' plan thingy.

GET A GOOD GPA (to graduate with next next year ~.~)
includes working hard, less procrastination, efficient working if procrastination happens and studying before tests and exams

KEEPING MY FRIENDS CLOSE TO ME
when resolution 2 is fulfilled lolololololololol joking, Y'ALL ARE NOT GONNA RUN AWAY NO MATTER WHAT

READ/WATCH THE NEWS MORE OFTEN
so I can understand what Mr. Bernard is saying and stop freaking out when he asks the class if we know what happened to the world today

READ MORE BOOKS
only applicable if resolution 2 is fulfilled

CONTROL MY TEMPER
yes, if you don't know that I am quick-tempered then it's working

HAVE MY WRIST(S) PAIN LESS OFTEN OR COMPLETELY HEALED
like buying another wrist guard so I can have one for each wrist lol. Or saving enough money to see a physio.

NO INJURIES FROM DANCE
my wrist injury does NOT count ok. The minor sprained toe from NP50 scared me a lot too. So there.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But I'm having the feel to write a little more so let me type in point form the highlights of 2013 (for the future me because STM):
FRIENDS
HOBO CLUB (and the creation of it)
need I say more? Ok, maybe I should haha. Having a group of friends who usually obsess over food like potato, there.
THE MEMBERS OF V-----T------.
with J--- M------ and M-- T-- for our entertainment. Credits also to them for making me realise that I am an excellent NintendoLand ghost HAHAHA
AND FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT HOBO OR IN V-----T------.
everyone is the reason why I am still sane from all the insanity of poly life.
NP50
which is what leads to the creation of hobo club hehe. and also what made me realised that being a dancer is so freaking dangerous, I really need to take care of myself. and also appreciate the fact that I didn't get injured (floor burns and bruises don't count) for the many years that I've been dancing (woohoo!). I also freaking love the night where we have no rehearsals and then we just OTOT like the loft is seriously our home like that
D3
too many things to list. committee, camp, recital, sleepover. love everyone <3
ROSTI
lol yes, I tried rosti for the first time (with the hobos duh), can a person marry food? ^^
MAH FAVOURITE CORNER
to do work. I'm serious, who knew I would actually be able to find such a place when I'm such a huge procrastinator?
MUM & DAD
for giving me a lot of freedom. I wouldn't have found my studying corner or be able to stay in D3 because I'm always going home late from all the school work and training and stuff. (although I wish dad would call me when I haven't reach home by 12.30 but y'all just go to sleep one leh hahaha)
(ok, this is just a jealousy thing because my dad used to call my brother and yell at him when he's not home by 12 or even 11 plus, I totally skipped the stage [THANK GOODNESS] and I know I would be irritated at my dad if he does that to me but you know sibling jealousy mah, why kor kor have but I don't have)
(if any family member is reading please do not convey message to papa because I don't actually want him to call me every night HAHAHAHA)
Ok but honestly, they DO ask me why I always get home so late the next day so yay they still love me and I'm not from a rubbish bin lol.
OH I FREAKING CUT MY HAIR
the shortest length since sec 1 or 2. which means my hair isn't as long as the giant photo up there. and of course I wanted to weep the first few days of cutting because my hair was so longggggg :'( it's not too bad now because I think it's growing quite quickly but I'm still irritated with the length of ponytail because it's super bouncy HAHA.
(will be continued if I have the determination hehe)
Side note:
If you don't know how I injure my wrist, it's because I played badminton in sec 2 and I used the wrong part of my hand/arm to play thus triggering the pain that comes once a while because apparently my wrist is too flexible and so fabulous it couldn't handle itself.
Obviously joking about the fabulous part because when people keep 'wahh'ing me about my wrist being too flexible, please guys, I would rather have a normal wrist than one that is very flexible but hurts okkkkkk, next time y'all wah, I make sure I twist your wrist then you know ah.
My difference in dancing and studying
I always felt that I have different attitudes in studying and dancing because I'm better in one aspect than the other. Ok lah, actually I only realised that like a or two months ago hahahahahahahaha.
In my studies, I've always felt super helpless especially when I see my groupmates throwing out ideas like a gush of water but I'm just like a dried out tap. That is why when someone compliments me for something study-related and I just become very happy and take it but I stuck at the same point, without moving forward, or just moving extremely slowly. But at the same time, it gives me some motivation to keep working on (so I can fish for more compliments hahaha). Extremely confusing but yes, if you get me, then you will.
This semester feels kinda different because we're not that crazy busy. YET. What powered me on to do my work was my tiny improvement in my GPA, I don't want to improve by 0.046 for this sem only please *shoots dirty look at self* and DEADLINES (obviously). (but then there's 3 reports due next week and look who's doing her work, HA! Not me ._.) Just would like to say because I don't think I'm very much a PR person so I'm very scared that my GPA would drop instead of improving (no matter how little).
TO MY SECRET SANTAS THIS YEAR, IF YOU DO SECRETLY STALK ME HERE. WRITE ME NOTES OF ENCOURAGEMENT CAN PLEASE THANK YOU. especially towards the end of the semester. :D
And then the difference comes when people compliment when I dance. I just turn away from it because I KNOW, I KNOW. But I never think that it's enough. I always want to improve but I think my improvement is incredibly slow. And I always feel that people are bringing up stuff that I already know that I can do so I just run away from it because I SHY, HEHE. (If only I think the same way when it comes to my studies. Major sighs. Don't get me wrong but I do know that I haz very slow improvement in my studies but I don't really know how to improve it, like there's no tuition for advertising or public relations rightttttt.)
Perfect examples of the 2 points: In P2, I scored 98 for my math exam and I was so happy then I just keep showing off to people (extremely proud, I know but I've never been so near the top mahhhh). I only harped on my careless mistake (4x2=6) for like 10 minutes (and once a while every year HAHA) and that's all. If it was dance, I would be like 'what the hell, why I never do good enough to be on the top, why I make such stupid mistake (using the 4x2=6 example) for like one whole week or something (or the rest of my life).'
So the point of this post is to say: I know I have differing attitudes in studying and dancing. But people who want to compliment me on my dancing/encourage me on my studies, please do continue because I'm secretly happy about it and it's a way to let me know that I've improve hehehe hehehe. *launches into crazy girl mode because 3 reports due next week*
and then hor, it's December alreadyyyyyyyy, here's wishing all you stalkers reading this post a happy end of the year and an even happier year ahead. :)
A bit of change to the blog by changing to a picture of me because I'm quite a 自恋 kind of person bwahahahaahahahahahahahaa.
So today I got the feel to blog about stuff so here I am. (Photos included worhhhhh)
Between the time of the previous post and now, I have already gone through 2 different dance productions. First one is put up by my CCA, D3~~~
Last year, we had a day only and it was a full house so this year we got 2 days AND it was a full house again!
Been through a lot of things because I'm in the committee and facing stress almost everyday even though it's the holidays  but seeing the show from start (just an idea) to end (clearing up MusicBox) IS SO TOUCHING.  I wanted to talk more but I'm getting lazy already so just put up pictures to see lah huh.
This is my D3 family and I love them so much. These 2 months of extreme-no-working-keep-asking-money-from-them-because-I-am-the-treasurer made a lot of them know me (which usually people don't because I'm so awkward and all)
And this is mai committee members, we went through so much together, I'm surprised we never come together and cry after the show lololol, even though the hug we had before the show almost made me cry.
This is mai girls (whom I adopted HAHAHAHA) [Ohmgoodness I'm getting lazy already, so that's all I'm saying]
And one of my favourite lighting of the item. It's actually spotlight one by one from left to right but obviously I screen capture each spotlight then photoshop them tgt lah. (This lighting always makes me wanna cry because when the exact timing hits IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL (I would like to thank myself for coming up with this idea HA HAHA HAHAHA and Choo for telling the PSP people what to do hehe)
And this is the item which I joined and learned really a lot from *transfers all messages I already posted on instagram here because I'm realllllyyyyyy lazyyyyy to type* Thank you YiZhen 😌☺ (And she also fulfilled my wish of dancing in a dress HAHAHAHAHA)
HUGS FOR EVERYONE.
The next performance is In The Making (ITM). And even though I have a lot to say, I'm still so lazy to type everything out so I'll just say thank you everyone for making this journey so magical and wonderful.
Even though I am super busy with D3 stuff (and feel super bad for not helping out a lot in making the props) and (maybe that's why) I'm slow in bonding with everyone and I'm a naturally awkward person, I felt more bonded in the last few days before the show, like despairing about the spider legs and bunny masks and THAT lost pillow (seriously still in amazement, why would someone steal a pillow??!??!?!?!) and the kids.
 The kids here kinda grew on me over the last few months. At first it was like super frustrating to talk to them because their responses are super unenthu and uncooperative but the last 2 days I suddenly became a lot more understanding and try to assure them that things would go definitely right if they do it right. Unless you're a left-hander and you use your right hand to write then that's definitely not right.
 Try and spot me here HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
KHAI AND ALAYNA! *SCREAMS* SHO CUTEEEEE
All the professional looking photos on stage are obviously not taken by me. :) Great photography!
This is team YOLO, Uncle Jo (without his makeup and belly) and Kay. I'm quite glad we fell into Kay's trap of "You can always quit if you really cannot commit/cope" because when we first joined the auditions, we were thinking so hard about it and decided to yolo together because since we spend so much effort and got in already, why not just continue? (again, feeling guilty for not helping out with props a lot)
*inserts picture and long caption of Steffi and I from instagram because my laptop don't have*
The ITM family :) Thanks for a wonderful experience! There's really a lot more I can say but I'm a lazy bum so I'm sorry :P But my last sentence will be, I didn't really expect myself to cry but I cried because 50% it's over and 50% I'm really affected by those who are crying so I cried HAHA
I love the sound of rain when it hits surfaces.
It's like "Shhhh, calm down and listen to me."
So I lie down and listen to it,
caught in a temporary bubble where time stands still.
Like rubber bands, we can only be pulled so far.
What do you do with people who think that they're very good when in actual fact, they need a lot of catching up? Should they still be given chance after chance?
MEEP
This blog is mainly created to vomit out my thoughts about this semester, which is super memorable so I want to write it down somewhere, it's gonna be long so have fun reading it (or not).
This memorable sem is both fun and miserable, exciting and boring. It only seems like yesterday when I first started poly life but now, half of it is gone already.
It only seems like 5 hours ago when we started sem 2.1 and now we're done with it. Everything is so fast, yet the individual days seem to stretch endless(ok, maybe not..). I've seen classmates cry due to rejection, unfairness and more, I've cried so many more times in just half a year than ever, we're all driven crazy by an eccentric, reject-all-ideas old lecturer, we know it's good practice for the future, but we still grumble about it all the time, afterall we're still students and deserve some leniency.
I've never ever dedicated so many weekends to do project work(s). I've never ever had so little time to relax, that even sitting down for 5 minutes in front of the TV evokes guilt.
Initially, I really wondered if I could ever pull through this sem, but now, as I'm typing in front of my laptop(with probably 20% of sanity gone), I know I did and it was hard but definitely doable(or not how the people working in this industry would have survived?!), with lots of crying, paper tearing, hair pulling and blah blah blah.
Despite all these not-so-positive things, there are still some fun things in the sem, the very first one was to see our lecturer featured in an ad (we laughed the moment he appeared until the ad ended). Random photo spams, random sing-out-loud sessions, random facebook-stalking breaks, random gossips here and there...
It's a good and a bad semester, I don't really want to face it again, but FACE THE TRUTH, you'll still have to go through the same thing next sem, Shi Ling.
Aside from school work, school work and more school work, I also have my dance for D3 and ITM2013. It's quite a tough job balancing between work and dance, many times I felt like skipping training (due to frustration about lack of time, guilt about leaving my group mates to do the work and so on), I'm really glad I didn't because dancing provides a temporary break for me. Even during the most urgent week, I still left for ITM, first reason being I really need to catch on the choreo and second reason being that I really need time to rest. Obviously, I felt super guilty for leaving my group mates, and I still feel that way. Thanks for being there when I need you, dance *sobs uncontrollably*.
Now that the worst is over, I can finally concentrate on the recital and ITM, until school reopens (but both performances will end by November so that's the good thing) but I really want to work. Reaaaallllllyyyy want to work, for my own pocket money and so I stop asking money from my dad all the time. But it seems like it's a busy holiday without work already, so what should I do? Sigh.
This sem is also very much encouraged by my friends, we tell each other to relax and go play somewhere during the littler than nothing free time(like a few hours after the submission of a work). Also my dear hobo club, whenever I start screaming in the chat, almost everyone will be like telling me to relax and nail whatever nerve-racking presentation I'm having. Really huge thanks to Choo for always giving me chocolates when I stressed or upset (I'm calling this The Chocolate Favour), Pearly for writing that little post-it, it made me realised how I'm really so much less slack as compared to year 1 (and getting all embarrassed when giving the notes to us).
